This comprehensive three day training will give you the skills and confidence to bring chairwork into your practice right away. You experience and practice some of the most effective chairwork interventions available, and learn how they can be applied to a variety of client issues. You will also learn how to use these methods online.

Our chairwork workshops use a unique blend of teaching, self-practice/self-reflective exercises, live demonstrations, and breakout room role-plays. Practitioners who use Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, CBT, ACT, CAT, Voice Dialogue, and Internal Family Systems Therapy approaches will find it particularly useful.

Tobyn Bell

Tobyn Bell is a Compassion-Focused and Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapist, Trainer, and Supervisor. He is a co-founder of Chairwork and a co-author of the book ‘Compassion Focused Therapy from the Inside Out: A Self-practice/Self-reflection Workbook for Therapists’. Tobyn regularly provides national and international training on compassion and chairwork, and is actively involved in ongoing research within these areas.

The workshop is predominantly skills-based and experiential. It includes teaching, group discussion, experiential exercises, live demonstrations, and small group practice. This workshop is suitable for people who are new to chairwork or those who use it regularly, including Practitioner Psychologists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals.

This workshop is provided online, via Zoom. Participants will receive detailed handouts (including step-by-step guides for using chairwork) before the event.
